NEA Student Achievement Grant Program

Sponsored by the NEA, this program is designed to improve the academic achievement of students in public schools and public higher education institutions in any subject area(s). Proposals for work resulting in low-income and minority student success with honors, advanced placement, or other challenging curricula are particularly encouraged. Grant writing tips are available on the website.

Deadline: October 15, 2008 (3 funding cycles per year)

Eligibility: K-12 public school teachers, public education support professionals, and/or faculty and staff in public institutions of higher education. Preference will be given to applicants who serve economically disadvantaged students.

Awards: Annually awards 75 grants. The grant amount is $5,000 and may be used for resource materials, supplies, equipment, transportation, software, or scholars-in-residence.

2009 Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy

Administered by National Science Teachers Association and Math Solutions, the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy is a one-week all-expense-paid intensive professional development program in science and math for third through fifth grade teachers.
